Terrific Twos

We’re fast approaching Aubrey’s second birthday and I am getting so excited. I finished her birthday invitations.

My goal is to make her birthday invitation every year for as long as she will let me. That way she has something special to look back on and know that she is loved.

Along with her birthday comes a whole new room and a big girl bed. Brandon and I will be going to buy her new mattress set on Saturday so she can wake up in it for her birthday on Sunday. Her crib turns into a full size bed so we don’t have to get anything other than the mattress. I have had her new bedding since December and she pulls it out of her closet all the time. Even though it’s never been out of the packaging, she somehow knows what it is. She will haul the giant bedding set bag out of her closet and ask me to help her open it because she wants to go “night night.”

This weekend I repainted her room to go along with the new bedding and the new era of Two. I hand painted a striped pattern on one wall and the other three walls are Disney’s Enchanted Pink color. I’m SOOO happy with how it turned out. I never imagined that the stripes would come out so well. I modeled the wall pattern after the pattern I created for her birthday invitation. The colors are all the colors from her new bedding.

You can see the frames I ordered sitting on her changing table. Those are going to be hung in the white space on the striped wall. I have to put frame hangers on the frames which I plan to go buy today. I’m anxious to get her pictures hung to see the room completed. Of course it won’t be entirely done until her new bed is in place at which point I’ll have to move the glider into the guest bedroom.

I will post before and after pictures of her room after her birthday on Sunday so you can see the transformation.

WOW! Those stripes look amazing! Really great job! I’d love to see pic\s with the picture frames hung as well. I run the website Make-your-own-baby-stuff.com and would love it if you would consider sharing your wall painting with the readers of my site. There’s a place where you can build your own page at http://www.make-your-own-baby-stuff.com/baby-nursery-painting-ideas.html. Feel free to link back to your blog!

I love the stripe pattern! I don’t know how you figured out how to do that on her wall, and then had the patience to do it? But it’s so cute & original. Also, I can’t believe how much Aubrey has changed! She’s turning into such a little girl and not so much a toddler. Ugh, kinda wrenches at the heart, you know?
