I got the call

I got the call that I have been dreading today. Aubrey’s day care provider called me at work at 11:14 a.m. to tell me that Aubrey just took two steps. I was so conflicted. Part of me wanted to cry because I wanted to be there SOOO bad and I ALMOST worked from home today! (kicking myself) Of course the other part of me is overwhelmingly proud of her and this new accomplishment.

Last night she stood up twice without holding on to anything. One minute she was sitting and the next she was standing, it was remarkable. I didn’t think she would transition to walking so quickly!

Lisa said she was in the living room with the kids and looked over at Aubrey and she was standing all by herself and just took two steps before going back down to her butt. I hate that I missed that. She also said after she saw that she was getting her to take more steps by holding toys in front of her. I can’t wait to go home!!!

Last weekend I bought Aubrey her first pair of Chuck Taylor’s and they are so cute!

I can’t wait to see what she is going to look like WALKING in them!

Oh my gosh this is just so exciting. I knew she would be walking before her birthday but I guess I didn’t actually believe it or I just didn’t comprehend how little time was between now and her birthday.

{sigh} My baby is growing up.

Too good not to share

Had I realized it was going to snow today or had I had any idea how bad the roads were I would have stayed home and worked from home. However, since I did not, I had a nice 2 1/2 hour drive to work to listen to amusing things on the radio such as:

This gentleman was interviewed because of his website. He provides free instructions on how to construct your very own “Thought Screen Helmet” that will prevent you from being abducted by aliens. Isn’t that sweet of him. No charge, he is just perfoming a public service and giving people the tools they need to protect themselves…uh huh. There are so many fabulous lines throughout the site, but one of my favorites is his explanation of how aliens will attempt to use mind control to prevent you from making and/or wearing the helmet. He says that they will even go so far as to manipulate your spouse’s mind to cause them to argue with you about wearing the device. Right, it’s the aliens causing your spouse to doubt your sanity, not the homemade aviator’s cap lined with plastic.

So if you feel that you could benefit from his wisdom…http://www.stopabductions.com/
